Founded in 2018, Legacy Autosport is a race team run by the Meyer family, whose grandfather and great grandfather Louis Meyer was the first three-time champion of the Indianapolis 500. Today the legacy is kept alive, with the younger Meyers striving to continue the winning ways of their family. The team is entirely focused on driver development, with a strong emphasis on avoiding transforming into a super team where efforts are spread among too many cars and drivers. Their belief is that drivers coming into the Mazda Road to Indy Presented by Cooper Tires need focus and attention in driver development and learning to win the series.
Legacy Autosport is based in Pittsboro, Indiana, located just outside of Indianapolis and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the heart of the motor racing capital of the world. The team has a season of experience in the Mazda Road to Indy Presented by Cooper Tires, as they won two USF2000 races with Alex Baron this year, including the race held in Indianapolis.
